We're Christian and Chelsea Tuttle!

We met in January of 2014 and immediately fell head over heels. After deciding it'd be a good idea to purchase a decommissioned ambulance (sight unseen!), road trip it across the US together and convert it into Campbulance, we knew we were a match made for adventuring.

We tied the knot in a private elopement ceremony on April 1st, 2015 and we've been happily planning and executing our adventures together ever since.

We spent years on the road, trying to figure out where to settle down. After selling off the Campbulance to prep for a trip to South America on two old Honda Trail Bikes that never happened, we bought a small school bus named Stubbs in the fall of 2015 and converted it to live in full time. We spent the summer of 2016 living in Stubbs just outside of Glacier National Park, dreaming of roads faraway, prompting us to go on the search for a new adventure rig. Enter, Little Foot, a 1982 Pinzgauer 712W. We spent a few weeks converting it and hit the road, driving down the west coast all the way into Baja and spent the winter of 2016/17 slowly adventuring through Baja. Eventually, in 2018, we bought an acre of land in Idaho and built our own small home there to serve as a home base. We sold Little Foot the Pinzgauer and tried out the roof top tent life on a truck with two TW200’s in the back while adventuring down in Mainland Mexico during the winter of 2021/22. While it was a lot of fun, it just wasn’t for us and we realized moving back to a van-based travel experience would be a better fit. As a result, we returned from Mexico, sold the roof top tent, truck and motorbikes and purchased Walter, a 1996 Mitsubishi Delica L400.

We’re currently adventuring around Mexico for the winter of 2023/24 in our Delica.

Loulou

Loulou was Chelsea’s partner long before Christian. She was adopted from a Pet Smart in West Virginia on February 16, 2008. She was just 2.5 years old and had been deeply abused before Chelsea found her. After spending the first few months of her new adopted life hidden tightly under a bed, she eventually came out of her shell and grew into a lovable little cuddle bug that would go on to spend the remaining 12 years of her life as a one-of-a-kind adventure buddy. She traveled extensively across the US, lived in more vehicles than houses and charmed the hearts of every single soldier at the military checkpoints in Baja.

She spent her last years living comfortably in the cozy house Christian and Chelsea built, and even got to spend a year of her life teaching Gracie how to be part cat before succumbing to kidney disease in April of 2020.

Gracie

Gracie was born November 25, 2018 and adopted on January 15, 2019 from a cattle ranch in Idaho. She’s a heeler/kelpie/aussie mix and she was picked out of the litter with intentions of training her to become an avalanche rescue dog to work alongside Christian as he ski patrolled.

She has amazing drive and is smarter than the two of us combined, so she excelled at her job and took great joy in searching for people buried under snow. While training her is an absolute pleasure for the both of us, we also knew that we would be happy simply adventuring together with her by our side, which is what we’ve been spending more of our time doing lately.

Her adventurous spirit combined with the loving cuddliness that she learned from Loulou has made her an indispensable part of our little family unit. She went on her first of many whitewater rafting trip at 6 months old, accompanied us down to Mainland Mexico during the winter of 2021/22 and even mastered the art of riding on the back of a motorcycle during our two-wheeled adventures.
